SXSW 2012

I came to Texas on a whim more than a decade ago. To a kid born and raised in New York, arriving in Texas felt like visiting a foreign country. I lived in the Hill Country for a summer but I knew Austin was the place to be. After a few more years of moving around out west I came back and settled there in 2000. After playing solo shows around town for a while, I had the great fortune of being asked to join Spoon in 2004. Since then I've toured the world playing keys, guitar and the occasional tambourine. In 2008 I met my fiancé and musical collaborator, Ariel Saldivar, and moved to Dallas, which I like to think of as a distant suburb of Austin. Last year I completed a solo record with the help of some great musicians, including members Spoon and Monahans, Charlie Sexton, Jon Sanchez, Hank Roberts and Daniel Hart.
