Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 8:00pm - 8:40pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)
Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers are a folk-rock-soul sextet of pan-Scottish provenance. Singer and guitarist Ali Downer assumed the moniker 'Woodenbox' , in a nod to influences such as King Creosote and ‘Bonnie’ Prince Billy and the addition of The Fistful of Fivers reflects a collective appreciation of Ennio Morricone’s scores for the spaghetti westerns of Sergio Leone.
The band's debut album, released on Electric Honey (Belle & Sebastian, Snow Patrol, Biffy Clyro) in April 2010 is entitled 'Home and the Wildhunt', a reference to the Celtic legend of 'The Wild Hunt'.
Praise and plays, including the accolade of BBC Radio 2 single of the week, make the forthcoming sophomore album, recorded in October 2011 with Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, The Phantom Band, Arab Strap) in the legendary Chem 19 studios, one of the most hotly-anticpated of 2012.

Three Blind Wolves
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 11:00pm - 11:40pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

Loud, hairy, and unpredictable, Three Blind Wolves are four young Glaswegians delivering country rock with a razor sharp edge. Drawing influences from Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival and even Led Zeppelin, the boys have sold out venues across Scotland with their wild stage presence, transfixing harmonies and captivating performance. The band released mini-album Sound of the Storm on Communion Records in March 2011 to critical acclaim, with track Emily Rose bagging a well-deserved place on the July MOJO magazine cover CD and sealing their soaring momentum with a coveted place on the BBC Introducing stage at T in the park 2011 and securing slots at major Showcase Festivals Eurosonic, SXSW and CMW.

    Thursday March 15, 2012 8:30pm - 9:00pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

Films of Colour crashed through the doors of the music world with their debut single Actions, released on tastemaker Label Fandango/Fierce Panda and were described by head honcho Simon Williams as the best band he's signed since Radiohead and Coldplay. The Guardian’s New Band of the Day, Best of MySpace Winners, The Independent newspaper’s Barometer: One to Watch and Steve Lamacq’s Favourite New Band. Radio support from 6 Music, Absolute Radio, Radio 2 as well as number 1 on Amazing Radio and a slew of Independent radio plays and sessions. Online the buzz was audible from noteworthy blogs including Room Thirteen and Losingtoday, “Of all the bands on the indie scene in East London, Films of Colour are amongst the cream of the crop” and “Films of Colour boast an intelligent, atmospheric sound that takes some bands years to perfect.”

David Garza
    Thursday March 15, 2012 9:20pm - 9:50pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

Please allow David Garza to reintroduce himself.

Get the head rockin’ with Shed Light, the best of this multi-instrumentalist’s 21st-century music. It’s sure to be in heavy rotation alongside his Deep Ellum-inspired and Austin-honed tapes and discs, the sounds of your 90’s misspent youth.

Then let the eyes drink in his feverish paintings at The Continental Club Gallery. Or see if the mind can catch up with the ears when he unleashes his lyrical flow representing Texas at Montreal’s International Poetry Conference "Peace in the Borderlands" in June 2011.

Next sit back and let a drama unfold thanks to his soundtrack, for the theatrical work “Fantasmaville,” for his scene-stealing performance in the independent feature, “Largo The Movie”, for the groundbreaking documentary "Wretches & Jabberers" (with Ben Harper, Scarlett Johansson & J.Ralph).

Or maybe you want to get back to the “Dah-Veed” you thought you knew. Alright, then, dodge the plastic cups at your feet, and elbow your way to the stage, where Garza is raising the bar and the roof, making soul shaking music with Fiona Apple or Jeff Ament or Jon Brion or Sara Watkins … Soon your hips will know why Pearl Jam hand-picked David to perform two shows at their first ever music fest in September 2011 in Alpine Valley Wisconsin.

Just don’t let the legend-status accolades fool you. Sure, in 1999, he was voted runner-up for Austin Chronicle Musician of the Decade—second only to Stevie Ray Vaughan. But be on the lookout now as David Garza brings you the sounds, songs & sights of tomorrow, and beyond.

Youngblood Hawke
    Thursday March 15, 2012 10:10pm - 10:40pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

Inspired by the Herman Wouk novel of the same name, Youngblood Hawke was born out of late night creative musings between longtime friends Sam Martin and Simon Katz. Exhausted by two years of touring with their former band and the general turbulence that comes with music industry success, Martin and Katz looked for a more simple creative outlet where they could write and share music with friends and family without commercial pressures. Katz's longtime friend Tasso Smith moved to Los Angeles from Texas to join the band when he heard the first demos, and Alice Katz, who was a key part of the original songwriting sessions, joined as well. To round out the lineup they recruited drummer and friend Nik Hughes and bassiest Benji Vanderbroek. They are currently finishing up their first self-titled album due out 2012.

    Thursday March 15, 2012 11:50pm - 12:30am @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)
For such a young band, New York Rivals has been making some major waves. Formed in September 2011, the east-coast quartet (with Josh Moran on vocals and guitar, Erik Rudic on lead guitar, Nash Breen on some thunderous drums and Gianni Scalise taking the bass) has been making the most of their time, releasing their debut self-titled album in October, paired with a chaotic DIY music video for their single “I’m Not Ready Yet,” and most recently recording a live EP with punk icon J Robbins, Muzzle the Kids, which is set for a late spring release.

D E N A is the music project of Berlin-based song writer and vocalist Dena Todorova.
Born and raised in Bulgaria, she moved to Berlin few years ago, where she focused on writing and working on music.
Dena stepped into focus as a guest vocalist on the two The Whitest Boy Alive albums. Now she’s cutting a dash with pop songs influenced by oldschool Hiphop, R&B and electronic music.
Currently finalizing her debut album with Finnish producer Jonas Verwijnen in Kaiku Studios Berlin, she is aiming to publish her first record further this year.
In summer 2011 D E N A started to play live in Berlin's club scene, and has already played a couple of support-shows for bands such as LCMDF, Kakkmaddafakka, Yip Deceiver and Das Racist.

Ximena Sarinana
    Friday March 16, 2012 11:00pm - 11:40pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

When Mexican vocalist Ximena Sariñana (hi-MEN-a sa-rin-YAH-na) released her debut solo album, Mediocre, in 2008, Rolling Stone gave it four stars and praised it as “one of the strongest debuts from a female singer-songwriter since Norah Jones’ Come Away With Me.” Recording the Spanish-language album was a natural step for Sariñana, who had risen to fame in her homeland as a child actress and had fronted a successful indie band for four years. “In Mexico, people believed in me as an artist,” says the fully bilingual 25-year-old. So when she began thinking about recording an album in English she was confronted with a tough decision: “Either stay in my country, where everyone knows who I am, or start from scratch and convince people that I’m worth it.” She chose the latter.

Girl in a Coma
    Saturday March 17, 2012 1:00am - 1:45am @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

San Antonio’s Girl In A Coma have left a permanent tattoo on the hearts of music lovers with their piercing songs and nuclear performances. They’ve blazed a singular trail since Nina Diaz joined the band at age 13 and have found champions and comrades along the way including Joan Jett who signed them, Morrissey, Sia, Tegan and Sara, The Pogues and Amanda Palmer who have hand selected them for tours. In addition, Robert Rodriguez asked them to compose one of the key songs for his film Machete last year. All the while, they have been building one of the most impassioned and diverse fan bases in music. Girl in a Coma are that rare feral band, unaffected by trends, that has managed to stay wild and thrill us at every turn.

The Ripe
    Saturday March 17, 2012 8:45pm - 9:15pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

With boundless musical imagination, The Ripe has sprung forth from it's roots in power-pop, folk, garage, and psychedelia while still being nurtured by contemporary sounds and influences. Born in 2007, the Austin, Texas group consists of Jake Garcia on guitar and vocals, Gian Ortiz on bass and vocals, and Nick Yaklin on drums. Cultivated by the energy and hooks of powerpop, and consciously trying to bring to real life the Beatles White Album, these guys also feed upon equal doses of Forever Changes era LOVE and The Kinks at their Village Green best. They are but saplings. But students of rock and roll will want to take a stroll through this forest. The Ripe have created their full-length debut record "Into Your Ears" on vintage BBC/Abbey road sound recording equipment at the fabled Circo Perrotti studio in Gijon, Spain to be released through Get Hip Records. Please. Stay. Tuned...

For over 6 years now, The Higher State have crafted and honed their own unique musical signature: a combination of 60's-style garage psychedelia and folk punk, meshed with full-on vocal harmonies and incisive, thought-provoking lyrics reflecting upon the ever present NOW. Their well-worn travelling shoes have taken the group all over Europe and North America, with appearances at festivals such as the Cavestomp in NYC in 2007 and the Wooly Weekend festival in Montreal in 2009. Their third full-length album, Freakout at the Gallery, was just released in November of 2011 by local Austin label 13 O' Clock Records.

The Ugly Beats
    Saturday March 17, 2012 11:00pm - 11:40pm @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)
The Ugly Beats formed in January 2003. Before striking their first note, the band promptly wound the clock all the way back to 1966 and has left it there ever since. Armed with Paul Revere, Ventures and Easybeats records, the four guys and one gal quickly whipped up a list of favorite obscure cover songs as long as one arm and a pile of folk-rockin’ original tunes as long as the other. In their nine years of existence, the band has managed to release three terrific records on Get Hip Recordings, “Bring on the Beats,” “Take a Stand with the Ugly Beats” and “MOTOR!” and has busted guitar strings, drumsticks, and bar tabs throughout the U.S., Mexico, the U.K., the Netherlands, and Spain (where the band enjoys a large following) since making their debut in their beloved hometown of Austin, Texas. Known for their highly energetic live shows and a special bond with their audiences, it’s only a matter of time before the Ugly Beats are in your brain and on your hi-fi. You must obey the Beats!

Paul Collins Beat featuring Peter Case
    Sunday March 18, 2012 12:00am - 12:40am @ Easy Tiger Patio (709 E 6th St)

Rock icon and cult favorite Paul Collins got his start with Peter Case and Jack Lee in 1974. Their band The Nerves toured with The Ramones and recorded a song called “Hanging On The Telephone.” The song would later become a hit when covered by Deborah Harry and Blondie on the Parallel Lines album.
Paul Collins formed The Beat in 1979, recruiting members of various rock bands including Steven Huff, Larry Whitman, Dennis Conway and Michael Ruiz. The result was The Beat, a high energy rock group in the style of The Ramones, Blondie and The Dictators. As the story goes, Collins was awarded a record deal with CBS thanks to his friend Eddie Money and Bill Graham Management. The Beat played with many bands, including The Jam, Pere Ubu, The Police, Eddie Money, The Plimsouls and Huey Lewis. The Beat became Paul Collins’ Beat when a ska band from UK began using The Beat as their moniker.
