The Crowdtap Party (Invite Only)
    Sunday March 11, 2012 9:00pm - 10:00pm @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)

Last year's hottest party at SXSW Interactive is back! Crowdtap launched at SXSWi 2011 with a bang and an amazing event covered by CNN, check it out here. We've since been named as Mashable's Up and Coming Social Media Startup of the Year and are coming back to where it all started.

This year we are back with what will surely be the top party of SXSWi 2012; however, due to overwhelming response last year, this party will be VIP-invite only for leading marketers at brands and agencies.

If you already received an invite, continue on and register yourself and a guest (full contact info needed). If you have not received an invite, feel free to e-mail vip@crowdtap.com with your full info and if we can accomodate you, we will. We will send out an e-mail to all those on the final list by a week prior to the event and confirm details.

Oberhofer
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 9:00pm - 9:40pm @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)

Ever since moving operations from his parent’s basement in Tacoma, Washington to Brooklyn, 20 year old Brad Oberhofer has been carefully honing his own brand of bedroom pop, which is as affecting and genuine as it is naively chaotic.
Charmingly skewed and ramshackle, Oberhofer’s classic, melody heavy indie rock sound manages to meld Brian Wilson sized hooks with expansive instrumentation and kooky, unpredictable song structures. The intense production mixes programmed drums with jittering live percussion and centers his exuberant yelps amongst keys, xylophones, whistles and washes of wall of sound guitar.

    Thursday March 15, 2012 9:30pm - 10:25pm @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)
In June 2011, The New Yorker called the band WORKOUT “a hyperactive rock monster” and compared their music to a love child of David Bowie and Roky Erickson. But all name checking and flattery aside, this isn’t quite the full picture. This is a Brooklyn band in the grandest tradition of Rock and Roll that wants to be your # 1 Party Band, break some hearts and unleash wild times. Featuring Jack Killen on vocals and piano, Alexander W. Forbes on guitar, Jason Langdon on bass and Tim Traynor on drums, this four-piece fills rooms with their anthemic odes on love, death and fantasy. These are big songs with finger-tapped guitar solos, sing-along choruses, foot-stomping chants and enough wild noise to make any bar break out into a brawl. Their self-titled debut album, featuring “Bottom Barrel Boys”, was released on September 24th 2011, twenty years after Nevermind and can be purchased only at your local N.Y.C. bodega or on-line at the band’s website. With hardly any of the songs being under the 5 minute mark, you can tell these guys really want you to get your money’s worth - strap yourself in for the ride and help put the classic back in Rock.

Marky
    Friday March 16, 2012 8:00pm - 8:15pm @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)
Home to irreplaceable artists like Duke Ellington, Roberta Flack, Marvin Gaye and more recently Ginuwine and Wale, Washington D.C. has bred another musical gift found in Marky – an eclectic artist bringing a refreshing sound to hip hop as we know it. From “Sheila” to “Louis Squares” and “Silent Beauty,” Marky has produced underground hits the industry craves, blending classic hip hop with his hometown’s distinctive sound, “Go-Go.”

Born Marcus Plater on December 7, 1988, Marky received first hand access to hip hop legends when most kids were just listening to their albums. From connecting one-on-one with Big Daddy Kane on a random ski trip to recording a track with Erick Sermon of EPMD at age 14 – Marky was not only developing his skill, he was learning the ins and outs of the music industry by some of the first to ever do it.

Flatbush Zombies
    Saturday March 17, 2012 10:30pm - 10:45pm @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)
Shocking, revolting, yet somehow eternally endearing, the Flatbush Zombies are a genuine mystery in a musical landscape where few still exist. Meechy Darko, and Juice, Brooklyn bred youth with a penchant for gold grills, Charles Manson and Air Jordans, rose out of complete obscurity on the back of an Erick Arc Elliott produced synth heavy, weed laced banger entitled "Thug Waffle," an ode to marijuana and breakfast foods which immediately propelled them to the forefront of New York's fresh crop of talent. Their seamless recipe of can't-look-away visual appeal and deft lyricism had them opening for ASAP Rocky, Danny Brown and Schoolboy Q within a month while peaking the interest of everyone from Lana Del Rey to Vice, The Fader, and Village Voice magazines. With Brooklyn behind them and their first full-length release due in the Spring, the Zombies from Flatbush are bringing back the sort of show stopping noise the city hasn't seen in a very, very long time.

Jet Life
    Saturday March 17, 2012 11:20pm - 12:20am @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)

Curren$y, Trademark and Young Roddy didn’t just climb the ladder of success – they soared above it. The Jet Life movement took off after the success of Curren$y’s seminal album, “Pilot Talk” on which Trademark and Roddy’s skills were showcased on the hit “Roasted.” The crew quickly became recognized as one of the most dominant forces in independent hip-hop, culminating in Curren$y releasing his last album, Weekend At Burnie’s on Warner Bros. The crew kept a steady incline as they performed in 35 cities as part of last year's Smoker’s Club Tour. They recently released the album "Jet World Order" on Jets International / iHipHop Distribution, which showcased the entire crew, consisting of Curren$y, Trademark, Young Roddy, Smoke DZA, Mikey Rocks, Fiend, Corner Boy P, and Street Wiz.

M.O.P. (Mash Out Posse)
    Sunday March 18, 2012 12:30am - 1:00am @ Haven (401 colorado st, Austin, TX 78701)

Hailing from Brownsville, Brooklyn, Billy Danze and Lil Fame, collectively known as M.O.P., have solidified their reputation as iconic lyricists through their years of hard-hitting rhymes and unparalleled tenacity. Never compromising their style and having shared the mic with industry greats such as Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Styles P, Guru, ODB, Busta Rhymes, and Redman, just to name a few, the duo has rightfully earned its status as one of the most revered acts in hip-hop today. In the early ‘90s, Fame and Danze formed the hardcore group M.O.P. (Mash Out Posse) and subsequently released their debut single, "How About Some Hardcore," which soon became popular and led to the release of their first album, To The Death, in the spring of 1994. Two years later, they delivered Firing Squad. Their third record First Family 4 Life was released in March of 1998; Warriorz followed two years later, spawning the hit “Ante Up.” The success of Warriorz helped raise M.O.P.’s profile and garnered some mainstream radio attention. Label issues left the band adrift around 2002 until they were picked up by Roc-A-Fella Records and appeared on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint²: The Gift & the Curse. Although the group stayed active recording and making appearances on soundtracks, Rock-a-Fella did not release a full-length album from M.O.P. and the band parted-ways with the label 2005. They then signed with G-Unit Records and released the compilation M.O.P. Salutes the St. Marxmen. M.O.P. next released Guerilla Warfare -- recorded and shelved by Rock-a-Fella -- in 2006, and in 2008, the band released The Legends Underground, Vol. 5 and announced they had ended their deal with G-Unit Records. In 2009, M.O.P. released The Foundation through E1 Music. Two years later, the group went on to release Sparta, entirely produced by German production team The Snowgoons, through Babygrande Records.
