Caddywhompus
    Wednesday March 14, 2012 8:15pm - 8:40pm @ Hotel Vegas Patio (1500 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)
The colloquialism “caddywhompus” is defined by such adjectives as “uneven,” “crooked” and “out of whack”—a list which could, in some instances, allude to the mind-bending sounds of the experimental noise-pop band who bears said name but whom can otherwise be described thus: spot on. Quasi-fraternal twins Sean Hart (drums) and Chris Rehm (guitar/vocals) have been playing music together since their middle school days, establishing their most serious project to date in September of 2008. Since then, they have played over 150 shows, the majority of them outside their native waters. With a daunting assortment of amplifiers and effects-pedal tweakery, the duo executes its incredibly loud and at times nearly overwhelming sets with an impeccable musicianship and live presence. Song structures alternate between sweet psychedelic indie ballads to the most intense, ear-splitting of noise-driven crescendos. Showcasing such raw emotion everywhere from cramped basements to the swankest of clubs, delivering sonic rapture to both veteran punks and seasoned hipsters alike.

Mannie Fresh is known to fans and throughout the music industry as an amazing producer, artist, and entertainer but he started out as one of the best DJs in New Orleans and he is now returning to his musical roots. The multiplatinum, Grammy nominated producer responsible for creating hits (for UGK, Trina, Gucci Man, The Notorious B.I.G. and of course Cash Money) is now back to spinning full time, moving the crowd and DJing in clubs across the country. In between his DJing duties he is still making it happen in studios with Kanye, Bun B. Drake and the iconic Dr. Dre.

Deadbeat Darling
    Thursday March 15, 2012 9:10pm - 9:45pm @ Hotel Vegas Patio (1500 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)
New York four-piece Deadbeat Darling is spending time on both sides of the pond. After selling out some of NYC's most prestigious venues over the course of the last 3 years, the band was signed by UK label Spearhavoc Records in March 2011, and promptly whisked away from Brooklyn to record in Wales with Grammy award winning producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy).
The album, titled "THE ANGEL'S SHARE", was mixed by another Grammy award winner, Adrian Bushby (Muse, Foo Fighters), and is due out in April 2012.
With a bit of downtown swagger and post-indie charm, their sound weaves together rock with hints of surf and dub.
A native of neither extreme, their lifestyle toggles between Brooklyn dive bars and the mise en scene of the West Side's fashion district; their live show is a sweaty barrage of unrestrained energy and mischievous sway that leaves little doubt as to why Deadbeat Darling has garnered such a rabid and eclectic following...

Black Taxi
    Thursday March 15, 2012 10:00pm - 10:35pm @ Hotel Vegas Patio (1500 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)
BLACK TAXI is one of NYC's most prominent live acts, smashing an anything-goes punk ethos together with pop sensibilities, unparalleled energy, and brilliant songwriting. The result is a raucous stage show, heavy on harmonies, spitfire guitar licks, body paint, and all manner of instrumentation. Their style has been described varyingly as "grit-pop" or "dance punk", and though their songs hint at the Talking Heads, Cake, and Daft Punk, they are driven by something entirely new and infectious. BLACK TAXI songs can be heard on radio stations from Maine to California, accompany hit TV shows, provide the soundtrack for film, and hit the airwaves on commercial airlines. Their music video "Shoeshine" found a success of it's own as an Official Nominee for the Webby Awards. Their most recent video "Hand" debuted on AOL Music and 2012's "We Don't Know Any Better" streamed on Spinner for a week following the release.

They decide to do it themselves- They form a band, they name themselves The Midgetmen, they book a show, they acquire some drink tickets, they release an album, they get some more drink tickets, they release a second album, they give away free fried chicken, they accumulate more drink tickets, they get better at writing songs, they book a tour of the midwest, they keep on writing songs, they almost win some Austin Music Awards, they find some drink tickets laying on the dirty floor of any number of bars, they release a third album, they play in the Northeast, they write more songs and keep getting free beer.

The Electric Hearts
    Friday March 16, 2012 8:15pm - 8:45pm @ Hotel Vegas Patio (1500 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)

The Electric Hearts draw on the soul of Stax and the blues of the delta to create an original sound that breaks the mold of the city they reside and perform in. Their music weaves together new sounds with classic throwback elements. The Electric Hearts released their debut LP August 23, 2011, which was produced by local producer and band-mate, Mike Odmark. The record tells the stories of love, love lost and redemption while painting vivid pictures of the struggles and temptations of the soul. Meanwhile, they have been dominating the Nashville rock scene with their “no-holds-barred” approach anchored by Jessica’s undeniable stage presence and vocal prowess. After recently winning the “Battle on Third” competition against 36 local bands, opening for Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr., The Wooten Brothers, The Sheepdogs and more. Here’s what some people are saying about The Electric Hearts:

Saints of Valory
    Friday March 16, 2012 9:50pm - 10:25pm @ Hotel Vegas Patio (1500 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)
In his Grammy acceptance speech for Best Rock Performance, Dave Grohl rallied musicians around the world with a battle cry for bringing back the human element to music. As if answering that call, Saints of Valory has burst onto the music scene in the Southern U.S. with a new breed of impassioned rock to stir the hearts and minds of music fans everywhere.
The quartet has a truly multi-national background, with members hailing from the all over the world: singer Gavin Jasper from Brazil, Frenchman drummer Gerard Bouvier, Canadian Stephen Buckle on keys, and the lone American, Godfrey Thomson on guitar. Three of the four members are the children of missionary parents, who spent their young lives traveling the globe, immersed in different cultures. They all found themselves in Rio de Janeiro in 2009 and, sharing similar childhood experiences and a genuine love for making music, formed Saints of Valory.

Snowden
    Friday March 16, 2012 11:25pm - 12:00am @ Hotel Vegas Patio (1500 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78702)

Snowden, the music namesake of Jordan Jeffares, began in 2003 in Atlanta GA. Building on the release of an early EP through Stickfigure Recordings, the band came up in the same scene and on the same local label that spawned Deerhunter and The Black Lips. In 2006 he recorded and released his first full length, Anti-Anti, on Jade Tree Records. Fans of post punk and brit rock took to the album and a string of dance remixes exposed the band to different tastes. Extensive touring brought Snowden to the attention of Kings of Leon, who took them on tour in the US and Europe in 2007. The friendship lasted beyond the tour and when Snowden and Jade Tree Records parted ways, talks of a label relationship with KoL lingered until late 2011. After signing to the KoL's new imprint, Jeffares hooked up with The Kills' producer and engineer Bill Skibbe and recorded the long delayed sophomore album which will arrive in the summer of 2012.

The Stooges Brass Band has been a premier New Orleans Brass Band since 1996.
