"The music of producer/songwriter Bruno Miguel mixes the electronic and the organic in a way that’s intimate and intricate. There’s a poetry to it that speaks of complex natural processes" - MTV Iggy "Beautiful sounds" - BBC Introducing "Otherworldly pop... destined for inclusion on the soundtrack to a very cool movie about five years from now" - AOL Radio "Cruel beauty" - Impose Magazine "Dark, near-industrial dance groove and singing that oscillates between angelic whispers and vocal manipulations" - Refinery29 "Approved: Glacial cool..." CMU Music Network "Shoegazing, electronic pop dream taken to a whole new level" - No Fear Of Pop :PAPERCUTZ is an electronic pop music act lead by Porto's Bruno Miguel which grew into a duo with New Yorker Melissa Veras. Their debut album "Lylac" was released on Montreal's label Apegenine recordings and their single Ultravioleta rmx's included remixes by Neotropic (Ninja Tune) and The Sight Below (Ghostly International). The album got featured in various publications with UK's Record Collector mag comparing Bruno's precision work to that of Four Tet and showcased by BBC introducing and MySpace's best music. The band spent the last two years touring and signed their remix album to UK Audiobulb Records, which included an original song and remixes spawned out of Lylac's textures, with Drowned in Sound calling the album 'notably coherent and engaging' unlike other remix records" and featuring relevant ambient music artists like Taylor Deupree, Keith Kenniff, former Slowdive member Simon Scott among many others that Bruno personally invited to work on his music. The duo just finished their sophomore album (to be released mid 2012) in NYC with producer Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio), mastered by multiple Grammy nominated engineer Joe LaPorta and are showcasing their new songs in SXSW with world percussionist André Oliveira, with a darker edge and epic sounding soundscapes, a resulting clash from Bruno's European rich traditional background Chris NY's edgie indie affair.
