Cindy Royal is an associate professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University in San Marcos where she teaches Web design and online media courses. She completed Ph.D. studies in Journalism and Mass Communication at The University of Texas at Austin in May 2005. Her research focuses on the effects of the Internet on communication and culture, most recently studying the role of programming to the journalism profession. Her students have covered SXSWi at www.sxtxstate.com for the past five years. Cindy loves technology, live music and living in Austin.
