JUNEBUG SPADE, a quirky line-up of musicians led by frontman Peter Anthony Seay II, are known more for their off-beat musical sensibilities than for conventional indie aesthetic. Their first two EP's (self titled, Fashion and Fame) were recorded at Bell Labs in Norman, Oklahoma by Trent Bell (Chainsaw Kittens). They blend the cynical enthusiasm of the Kinks, Pixies, and Built to Spill with classic Jagger/Richards riffs. JUNEBUG SPADE has shared the stage with such acts as Built To Spill, The Lemonheads, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, and Magic Kids. They have also packed the house at Opening Night, Dfest (Tulsa), Norman Music Festival, and Momentum. JUNEBUG SPADE has recently finished their third EP, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, with the intention of maintaining creative progression, and pushing things forward stylistically. The five song EP was recorded by Sam Welchel and mastered by legendary NYC record producer KRAMER (Galaxie 500, Ween, Butthole Surfers) calling it "fucking superb!" Extra Virgin Olive Oil was released in the fall of 2011, and its sound has been compared to that of raindrops on a hot tin roof....
