Bonaparte
    Thursday March 15, 2012 12:10am - 12:50am @ The Iron Bear (121 W 8th St, Austin, TX 78701)

BONAPARTE performed a first show in october of 2006 on trash found in the backstage area of now legendary bar25 in berlin, germany. after their first album "too much" (2008) became an independent hit they emerged from the underground berlin club-culture and developed into a wild rocknroll-trash-punk circus performing up to a hundred shows a year touring extensively around europe, russia or down under. they are fully self-produced and self-managed, writing and producing their music, creating their artowork and stage-costumes as well as photography and videos. in 2011, after having performed at some of the biggest european festivals such as "rock am ring", "roskilde" or "hurricane/southside" they released a kaleidoscopic portrait of the tour to their second album "my horse likes you" (2010): a feature film called "0110111 - Quantum Physics & A Horseshoe" (Staatsakt/Warner).

Christeene
    Thursday March 15, 2012 1:10am - 1:50am @ The Iron Bear (121 W 8th St, Austin, TX 78701)
CHRISTEENE has been characterized as being a sexually infused sewer of live rap and vile shamelessness, capable of adapting amazingly well to all styles of music.
Attempts at gathering personal information on CHRISTEENE concerning age, origin, race, religion and even gender have proven fruitless, leaving the public to rely primarily on a highly stylized collection of music videos released through the singer’s collaborative efforts with award winning filmmaker and cinematographer, PJ Raval...who remains silent on the subject of their relationship.
It is noted that CHRISTEENE commands a stage presence of furious intensity accompanied by a strict regiment of hardcore dance and destructive choreography. The singer's impressive sound arsenal showcases a wide range of musical appreciation and mastery ranging from Electro to R&B, Hip Hop to Dub Step, with titles including 'Fix My Dick', 'Tears From My Pussy', 'African Mayonnaise’ and ‘Bustin’ Brown’. These songs, written by the artist, offer an intimate and fascinating glimpse into the private and sometimes heartbreaking experiences of this talented nightmare.
Reports from live shows describe scenes involving butt plugs tied to bouquets of balloons being released into the air from CHRISTEENE's arse, intimate and bizarre confessionals over tea, backup boys in handmade Panda masks urinating on canvas sacks containing the singer, and a DIY anti-fashion wardrobe styled from the forgotten scraps of society. Appearing alongside CHRISTEENE are two sexually distinct Backup Boyz, T-Gravel and C-Baby, along with accompanying DJ/ music producer, JJ Booya, rumored to be the entertainer's third cousin.
Multiple sightings of CHRISTEENE have been documented in AUSTIN, TX – South by Southwest 2010/11, Queerbomb, Homoscope. SAN FRANCISCO – Folsom Street Fair, Trannyshack, Bearracuda, SomeThing, Hard French, Homo-a-go-go. LOS ANGELES – Bears in Space, Shits n Giggles, Big Fat Dick, The Wildness. NEW YORK CITY – The ‘F’ Word, Greenhouse. PORTLAND – Blowpony/ Portland Pride. NEW ORLEANS – The Hook Up w/ Big Freedia, Bearracuda. PARIS – ‘Spotlight Club’ w/ fashion designer Rick Owens and Michele Lamy. STOCKHOLM – ‘Slick’ at the Sodra Teatern. BERLIN – Ficken 3000.
The singer’s music videos have been showcased in the film festivals of: SXSW, Rooftop Films, Paris Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, CFMDC's Queer City Cinema's Tour "Wide Open Wide", Homo-a-go-go, Prince George lesbian and gay film festival, Regina gay and lesbian film festival, and the International Short Film Festival/ Detmold…to name a few.
It should be noted that CHRISTEENE's music, media and live shows have cast an unprecedented net over a demographic including married men, dykes, queers, single women, bears, fraternity brothers, motor hogs, and people of the medical profession; clearly signifying a rapidly growing pandemic on popular culture as we know it.
The debut album from CHRISTEENE, 'Waste Up, Kneez Down', is set to be released in early 2012, fresh off the heels of the EP 'Soldier of Pleasure', which is currently on sale at christeene.org.

The Saint James Society
    Saturday March 17, 2012 7:30pm - 8:05pm @ The Iron Bear (121 W 8th St, Austin, TX 78701)

Austin TX psychedelic garage rockers THE SAINT JAMES SOCIETY play electric rock music that brilliantly connects the dots between the late ‘60s British blues-based bands and the brooding atmospheres of early ‘80s post punk resulting in a hypnotically powerful sound the fabulous five-piece has coined "Pentecostal Desert Glam". The band fuses a "raw energy" sound with the pseudo-mysticism of The Doors and the guitar orchestrations of classic hard rock, skillfully synthesizing these musical touchstones to create their self titled debut EP. An energized recording bursting with a muscularity as fuzzy headed and adventurous as their off-stage exploits, the group’s darkly iridescent, kill-your-idols vibe is a fist-punching yelp of energy that demands to be heard at maximum volume. When the heavy swagger of vocalist/bassist Brandon Burkart aligns with the band's heavy-footed rhythms, ticking time-bomb beat and stunning twin vocal tandem of rebel queens Elza Burkart and Candice Bertalan, the resulting musical statement mainlines the thrill of defiance straight to the listener's heart. Placing their steps in the petrified footprints left by the Velvet Underground and the slightly fresher ones of Spacemen 3, THE SAINT JAMES SOCIETY reduces the blues to one nasty lick pickled in distortion. Meet your new favorite band. -The Orchard // Brooklyn

Lumerians
    Saturday March 17, 2012 8:25pm - 9:00pm @ The Iron Bear (121 W 8th St, Austin, TX 78701)

Lumerians is a San Francisco Bay Area based quintet. The group is notable for performances characterized by what the SF Weekly described as "transcendent live video projections." The band's sound was influenced by groups such as Sonic Youth, Krautrock groups such as Can and Neu!, and African and South American Psych music from the 1960s and 1970s, Italian horror movie soundtracks, post-punk and early industrial music. The band was founded by Tyler Green, Marc Melzer, Jason Miller and Chris Musgrave in 2006. After releasing their first S/T EP in 2008 and the Burning Mirrors/Chevaux Fous 7" in 2010, Lumerians supported acts such as Wire, Killing Joke and Butthole Surfers. Lumerians released their debut full length LP, "Transmalinnia" on Knitting Factory Records in March 2011, recorded in their own studio/brewery in a converted church in Oakland, California.

Electric Flower
    Saturday March 17, 2012 11:10pm - 11:45pm @ The Iron Bear (121 W 8th St, Austin, TX 78701)

Electric Flower Group is a new band featuring Imaad Wasif's vocal and guitar exorcisms and Josh Garza's pummeling beats. They are two men that sound like an orchestra of the damned. Their songs have an immediate and tangible impact on the contemporary pop musical landscape. Artifice is devalued; pure emotion is king. Electric Flower Group are on a journey through a modern kaleidoscope of rock 'n' roll, transcending mainstream influence and incorporating strong minimalist elements into their modern psychedelic music. They wake the ghosts of rock's most daring days, while never following them. Wasif has previously released three solo albums, including 2010’s highly acclaimed “The Voidist,” and has established himself as one of the L.A. underground’s most electrifying guitar players. Josh Garza, a Texas native and the drummer of Secret Machines, is widely recognized for his fearless sound, channeling the spirit of Bonham and the space between the beats.
